Apple has officially launched its 2025 Back to School promotion across Europe, following a brief downtime of its education stores earlier today.
The promotion, which runs from today (July 10) until October 21, offers students, teachers and eligible education staff a free pair of AirPods or other accessories with the purchase of a qualifying Mac or iPad through the Apple Education Store.
The MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and iMac are all eligible for the promotional gifts, along with the iPad Air and iPad Pro. The exact free items vary depending on the product, although they all come with options like the AirPods 4, AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation, AirPods Pro 2, Apple Pencil Pro and the Magic Keyboard for iPad.
The offer is live in several countries, including Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the U.K. In the U.S., a similar Back to School promotion is running until September 30, offering free accessories with qualifying purchases. That promotion launched a little earlier in mid-June.
This promo has become a yearly tradition for Apple, as a way to entice students into upgrading their gear – or possibly switching from Windows to macOS or iPadOS – before they start university later in the year.
What can you get free?
For example, if you pick up a MacBook Air M4 you’ll bag yourself a free pair of AirPods 4 with ANC – some of the best buds around right now. If you would prefer the AirPods Pro 2, arguably the best AirPods, then you can get them for an additional £50 charge.
If an iPad is more your style, you can nab a free Apple Pencil Pro (typically this retails for £119) or AirPods 4. This can be upgraded to the ANC version of the AirPods 4 for £50, or AirPods Pro 2 for £100.
The free accessory is included alongside Apple’s standard 10% educational discount on select Mac and iPad models. This discount is available all year.
