Fresh leaked images appear to showcase the upcoming DJI Avata 360 — and they suggest the 360-degree drone could boast a clever twist that gives it an edge over rivals.
Shared by reliable leaker @Quadro_News, the photos show the Avata 360 from multiple angles, alongside familiar DJI accessories such as the standard DJI RC controller and what looks like a multi-battery charging hub.
While DJI hasn’t confirmed anything yet, the leak offers the clearest look so far at what could be its first true 360-degree camera drone.
The most interesting detail isn’t the design, but how the camera appears to work. One leaked image shows the RC controller displaying a standard, non-360 video feed, hinting that the Avata 360 may support a single-lens shooting mode.
According to the leak, this would be enabled by a rotating camera module, allowing the drone to switch between full 360 capture and traditional forward-facing video.
If that turns out to be true, it’s a notable advantage over the Insta360 Antigravity A1, which is limited to fixed dual lenses and can only shoot in 360 degrees. For creators who want flexibility without swapping drones, that could be a big deal.
Being part of DJI’s FPV-focused Avata lineup could also give the Avata 360 an edge in speed and manoeuvrability. The Antigravity A1 leans more toward smooth, cinematic flying, whereas DJI’s FPV drones are built for sharper movements and more aggressive flight.
The leak also shows what appears to be a three-battery charging hub, typically bundled with DJI’s Fly More combos, suggesting multiple kits may be planned for launch.
Rumours suggest the Avata 360 borrows heavily from the Avata 2, which launched back in April 2024. Expected specs include 8K video, dual 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensors (possibly the same ones used in the DJI Osmo 360), improved battery life, and features like obstacle avoidance and Follow mode.
One complication remains: DJI’s recent US sales restrictions mean the Avata 360 likely won’t launch stateside. For everyone else, though, the steady stream of leaks suggests DJI’s most unusual FPV drone yet is almost ready to take off.
