You’ll soon be able to display your favourite photos on your Samsung TV

Samsung is preparing to bring Google Photos to its AI-powered TV lineup, giving users a new way to view and rediscover their personal photo libraries on the big screen.

The planned integration will allow Samsung TV owners to sign in with their Google account and access their photos directly from their television, turning the living room display into a large-format digital gallery.

Samsung says it aims to be the first TV brand to launch Google Photos features in 2026, with an initial rollout focused on curated memories, followed by more advanced creation and personalisation tools later in the year.

At launch, the TV experience will centre on Google Photos Memories, which automatically surfaces collections based on people, places and meaningful moments, presented in a format designed for larger screens.

These memory collections are expected to appear naturally within Samsung’s existing TV interface, including areas such as Daily+ and the Daily Board, rather than being confined to a standalone app.

Samsung describes this as part of its broader Vision AI Companion approach, which uses context and on-device intelligence to surface relevant content throughout the day.

Later in 2026, Samsung plans to expand the experience with AI-powered creation tools, allowing users to generate themed visuals, apply different artistic styles to photos or turn still images into short video clips.

Those features are built on Google’s image generation and editing technology, including tools developed by Google DeepMind, and are intended to make photo libraries more interactive rather than purely archival.

A further update planned for later in the year will introduce personalised results, enabling users to generate slideshows based on themes or topics such as travel destinations, activities or specific events.

Samsung says setup will be straightforward, with users simply signing in to their Google account on the TV to begin viewing their photos without additional hardware or manual transfers.

The company is positioning the Google Photos integration as an extension of how TVs are used when not actively streaming shows or films, offering a more personal alternative to static ambient visuals.

More detailed availability information, including which Samsung TV models will support the feature at launch, is expected closer to the 2026 rollout window.
