RingConn’s third-gen smart ring offers blood pressure monitoring

RingConn has unveiled its third-generation smart ring, positioning it as a broader, more feature-rich alternative to rivals like Oura — and this time, it’s adding blood pressure insights and haptic feedback to the mix.

The RingConn Gen 3 builds on the Gen 2 and Gen 2 Air with a familiar titanium design that remains waterproof, but it now comes in a wider range of finishes.

Buyers will be able to choose from matte black, brushed silver, polished silver, royal gold, and polished rose gold, with sizing spanning US ring sizes 6 to 15, making it more accommodating than many smart rings on the market.

The headline feature is blood pressure monitoring, though RingConn is careful not to frame this as a medical-grade measurement. Instead, the ring analyses data from its heart rate, SpO₂, accelerometer, and skin temperature sensors to flag a potential risk of elevated blood pressure.

This puts it in line with approaches used by competitors such as the Circular Ring 2, offering early warnings rather than diagnostic readings.

Another notable addition is a built-in vibration motor, allowing the ring to deliver haptic alerts. These can be used to signal when fitness goals are reached or when the system detects unusual health metrics, a feature that brings the RingConn experience closer to what users might expect from a smartwatch, without the screen.

RingConn is also promising improved battery life over the previous generation, which was rated at around 10 to 12 days per charge, though the company hasn’t shared concrete figures yet.

Pricing and release timing remain unclear, but RingConn has one potential advantage over its biggest rival: the Gen 3 is not expected to require a paid subscription, unlike Oura’s smart rings.

If that holds true, it could make RingConn’s latest wearable an appealing option for users who want long-term health tracking without ongoing fees.
