Nespresso has introduced the Vertuo Up, marking its first new Vertuo pod coffee machine release in several years.
The Vertuo Up follows the Vertuo Pop and Pop+ models, representing the brand’s first full Vertuo platform update in a while, and expands Nespresso’s pod lineup after a relatively quiet period.
Like other Vertuo machines, the Vertuo Up supports six cup sizes using barcode-scanned pods, while also allowing users to customise cup size and temperature through Nespresso’s companion app.
The Vertuo Up adopts a slimmer profile than previous Vertuo models and includes a repositionable water tank, allowing it to fit more easily into a wider range of kitchen layouts.
Nespresso has also reduced startup time, with the Vertuo Up reaching brew-ready status in approximately three seconds, making it the fastest Vertuo machine in the current lineup.
A redesigned opening and closing lever simplifies pod loading, while the machine provides enough vertical clearance to accommodate travel mugs up to 7.5 inches tall.
New iced coffee feature targets changing habits
One of the more notable additions is a dedicated Coffee Creations button, which brews a more concentrated coffee intended for iced drinks rather than traditional hot servings.
The feature reflects Nespresso’s response to the growing popularity of iced coffee, particularly in warmer markets, where demand for cold and over-ice drinks continues to rise.
The Vertuo Up is available now in the United States, priced at $229.99, with black and white colour options offered at launch.
Nespresso has not confirmed pricing or availability for the UK or other regions, leaving international rollout details unclear for now.
The Vertuo Up enters a competitive pod coffee machine market where brands increasingly balance speed, compact design, and customisation, suggesting Nespresso is positioning the model as a modern refresh rather than a full platform overhaul.
