Manhattan has a new 4K streamer, and it can add Freely to any TV

Manhattan TV has taken the covers off its latest streamer in the Aero, which comes with support for Freely.

Freely, in case you didn’t already know about it, was the fastest growing TV platform in the UK over the course of 2025; managing to surpass over one million weekly users during the Christmas period. This latest launch will likely bring Freely to more people, adding another streaming device in the mix along with Manhattan’s experience in the world of TV boxes.

The new Manhattan Aero makes it possible to add Freely on any existing TV, with users able to connect the Aero to their home broadband network over Wi-Fi. The launch of the Aero is part of a new wave of Internet-connected devices that are leaving the days of aerial and satellite dish hook-up behind and focusing on the streaming revolution.

Freely itself offers over 60 live TV channels and more than 75,000 hours of on-demand content from the likes of BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, Channel 5 on other channels/apps.

The Aero makes use of TiVo OS (which we heard rumours about as far back as IFA 2025), which means that it’s not just the UK catch-up and on-demand apps that you’ll be getting on the Aero, but global apps such as Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, Prime Video and more; providing the best of UK content and films and series from across the world.

And if that’s not enough, TiVo+ provides another 400+ free streaming channels and a library of free on-demand films and shows, just in case you felt you were lacking for options. TiVo Voice, which has been given a spruce up recently, aims to make it easier to search for what you like with your own voice.

There’s support for 4K resolution, and there’s HDR support in the form of HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG HDR for broadcasts.

With Freely forecasted to become the UK’s largest TV device platform within the next five years (fully putting Freeview Play in the rear view mirror), research from YouGov has popped up indicating that 70% of Samsung and LG users want Freely on their next TV. We’re going to pop our heads over the parapet and suggest that Samsung and LG TVs are plenty well-stocked for apps and features, but if the customer wants Freely on their TV, the Manhattan is a cheap, cost-effective way of doing that.

Priced at £69.99, the Manhattan Aero will be available from the likes of Amazon, Currys, John Lewis and others from February 2026 onwards.

Given the fight for viewers’ eyeballs, free streaming content has become something of a battleground with the likes of Roku with its Roku Channel, Samsung and its TV Plus, LG with its LG Channels service and Freely now increasing its device footprint after the release of Netgem’s streamer in 2025, it’s starting to hot up.

It looks as if the revolution won’t be televised but streamed instead, and we’ll be watching with interest to see who sits on top of the throne when the dust settles.
