Nvidia is bringing GeForce Now to Amazon Fire TV devices, effectively turning select streaming sticks into cloud-powered gaming hubs.
The new app means Fire TV owners can access their existing PC game libraries on the big screen. No console is required.
The rollout supports the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus (2nd Gen) and Fire TV Stick 4K Max (1st and 2nd Gen), provided they’re running the required Fire OS versions. Streaming is capped at 1080p at 60fps using H.264 encoding with stereo audio. However, that’s enough to deliver a solid living-room experience for most cloud gamers. Plug in a compatible controller, open the app, and you’re ready to go.
This marks another step in Nvidia’s steady expansion of GeForce Now across platforms. The service already runs on PCs, Macs, smartphones, browsers and smart TVs, and recently added broader Linux support. Fire TV integration pushes it further into the mainstream. This is particularly useful for users who don’t own dedicated gaming hardware but already have an RTX-powered membership.
Alongside the platform launch, Nvidia is adding eight more games to the GeForce Now library. Highlights include Mega Man 11, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, Capcom Fighting Collection, and the Capcom Beat ’Em Up Bundle. These additions give retro fans plenty to revisit. Story-driven RPG Torment: Tides of Numenera also joins the lineup. Alongside this, newer titles like REANIMAL and Disciples: Domination are included.
For Fire TV users, the appeal is straightforward. Instead of investing in a console, you can stream high-end PC games directly through a streaming stick you may already own. Performance will still depend on connection quality. However, Nvidia’s RTX-backed servers handle the heavy lifting.
Cloud gaming has long promised to remove hardware barriers. With Fire TV support, GeForce Now edges closer to that goal. If you’ve got a compatible stick and a controller lying around, your TV just became a lot more versatile.
