Q Acoustics’ Easyfit Speakers play sound from your ceiling

Q Acoustics has launched the Easyfit Speaker Series, a range of in-ceiling speakers built around a tool-free spring mounting mechanism that removes the power tools and screw-tightened fittings common to traditional ceiling speaker installations.

The Easyfit range enters a home audio installation segment where fitting complexity has historically limited in-ceiling speakers to professional installers, with the spring mechanism targeting a broader audience of homeowners who want built-in audio without the associated labour costs.

Each speaker uses four high-tension spring fixings that lock into a primed position before installation, then deploy automatically once the speaker sits in the ceiling void and the installer releases each catch, securing the unit against the plasterboard without additional tools.

Removal requires only a screwdriver to retract the mechanism through a push, lift, and 90-degree turn, a simpler process than traditional ceiling speakers that often require specialist tools to extract without damaging surrounding plasterboard.

The launch range includes three 6.5-inch models — the QI65CE, QI65CWE IPX4, and QI65CWE Stereo IPX4 — with an 8-inch QI80CE model following later in 2026 to give the series coverage across standard living spaces and larger rooms where having a bigger driver improves low-frequency output.

The Easyfit series pairs optimally with Q Acoustics’ own E50, E120, and E300A easy-install audio systems, while maintaining full compatibility with third-party installation setups for homeowners and installers already committed to other ecosystems.

A white finish and inward-bent metal grille keep each speaker flush and low-profile against the ceiling surface, a design approach that suits open-plan living spaces where visible speaker hardware would interrupt the aesthetics of interiors.

The QI65CWE and QI65CWE Stereo variants carry IPX4 certification, meaning they withstand water splashing from any direction, and feature zinc-plated grilles to resist corrosion in bathrooms, shower rooms, and kitchens where humidity accelerates material degradation.

All stereo models include a tweeter that pivots up to 22 degrees through 360 degrees, allowing directional control over high-frequency output toward a specific listening position.

A high-frequency EQ switch offers ±1.5 dB adjustment to compensate for room acoustic differences, a tuning option that addresses one of the more common complaints about fixed in-ceiling speakers in rooms with hard reflective surfaces.

The speakers use polypropylene mid-bass woofer cones across the range, with all three 6.5-inch models rated at 65W RMS, an 8-ohm nominal impedance, and 88dB sensitivity, specifications that place them within reach of most standard home amplifiers without requiring dedicated high-power systems.

The QI65CE launches at £249 per pair, the QI65CWE IPX4 at £299 per pair, and the QI65CWE Stereo IPX4 at £199 per single unit. All three 6.5-inch models available from the end of March 2026 through Q Acoustics directly and independent dealers across the UK and Europe.
