Samsung may already be winding down one of its most experimental foldables.
A new report suggests the company is preparing to stop selling the Galaxy Z TriFold. Its upcoming restock in South Korea could potentially be the last.
The TriFold only launched in limited markets late last year, and even then in small quantities. It has been difficult to buy from the start. The device frequently sold out whenever new stock appeared. According to the report, Samsung is expected to release one final batch in its home market this week. After this, sales could come to an end.
The same pattern may play out elsewhere. Markets like the United States could see a final restock as well. Availability may end once existing inventory is sold through. In simple terms, Samsung may have already stopped producing the device altogether.
That wouldn’t be entirely surprising. The Galaxy Z TriFold was never positioned as a mass-market product. Instead, it acted as a showcase of what Samsung’s foldable tech is capable of. Its limited release strategy suggests it was always more of a concept brought to life than a long-term addition to the Galaxy lineup.
Samsung has also reportedly confirmed that there are no immediate plans for a successor. This further supports the idea that the TriFold was a one-off experiment rather than the start of a new category.
That said, the device still serves a purpose. It demonstrates that multi-fold designs are technically viable, even if they’re not quite ready for widespread adoption. Whether Samsung revisits the tri-fold form factor in the future remains unclear. For now, the Galaxy Z TriFold looks set to disappear as quickly as it arrived.
