Fujifilm has announced the Instax mini 13, a refresh of its popular instant camera.
This model adds a few small but welcome upgrades, including a built-in self-timer, while keeping the simple, beginner-friendly formula intact.
The mini 13 follows on from the mini 12, but this time with a softer, more sculpted design and a metallic silver logo across the front. It’s still clearly part of the same playful Instax lineup, but with a slightly more polished look.
The headline addition is the new self-timer, which offers 2- and 10-second options. It’s a simple feature, but one that makes a lot of sense for a camera that’s often used for group shots and selfies. Fujifilm is also including a small-angle adjustment accessory to help frame those hands-free shots more easily.
Beyond that, the core experience remains familiar. The mini 13 includes Close-Up Mode, a Selfie Mirror, and Auto Exposure. It also features Fujifilm’s Parallax Correction, which helps align the viewfinder with the lens for more accurate framing in close shots. There’s also automatic flash control, designed to balance images in both bright and low-light conditions without much input from the user.
Like previous models, the camera keeps things straightforward with a twist-to-power lens design that also doubles as a shortcut to Close-Up Mode. It is a small touch that makes it easier to use straight out of the box.
Alongside the new camera, Fujifilm is updating its Instax UP! app, which lets users scan and store printed photos digitally. The latest version adds improved AI-based image detection, helping separate photos from backgrounds for cleaner scans.
There’s also a new Pastel Galaxy mini film pack launching with the camera. This features a more stylised, colourful frame design for those looking to customise their prints a bit further.
The Instax mini 13 will be available from 25 June 2026 in five colours, including Dreamy Purple, Frost Blue, and Candy Pink, priced at £79.99. Matching cases and the new film packs will be sold separately.
It’s not a major overhaul, but the addition of a self-timer and a refreshed design make the mini 13 a slightly more flexible option, especially for anyone picking up their first instant camera.
