Garmin’s next big launch could be set for next week – here’s what we know

Garmin looks set to announce a new wearable as soon as next week. Multiple sources point to a late March reveal – though exactly what’s coming is still up for debate.

The strongest hint comes from DC Rainmaker, who recently teased that “some goodness” is landing next week. That’s been backed up by another source claiming a “significant drop” is imminent. This suggests Garmin isn’t just quietly updating an existing product.

So what could it be? According to the 5krunner, one possibility is the long-rumoured CIRQA Smart Band, which briefly appeared on Garmin’s Canadian website earlier this year. After that, it popped up in FCC filings. That usually signals a launch isn’t far off.

However, there’s a catch. Separate reports including claims from sources speaking to Garmin staff suggest the CIRQA band might not arrive until late Q2 2026. This could potentially push it back to May or June. If that’s accurate, it makes a March launch feel unlikely.

That leaves another contender: a new running watch, potentially dubbed the Forerunner 170. While Garmin hasn’t officially acknowledged it, the device is expected to follow the Garmin Forerunner 165, which launched in 2024. If true, it would be a relatively quick turnaround. This is especially notable considering Garmin only recently refreshed its higher-end lineup with newer Forerunner models.

Right now, there’s no confirmation on specs or features for either device. But if Garmin is gearing up for a launch next week, it’s likely to be something more substantial than a minor refresh. This is particularly likely given the language around a “significant” announcement.

For now, all signs point to the week beginning March 23 as the key window. Whether it’s a lightweight fitness band or a new running watch, Garmin doesn’t look like it’s waiting much longer to make things official.
