Love Samsung’s browser? You can now replace Chrome with it on your PC

Samsung is taking its popular mobile browser to Windows PCs for the first time, armed with agentic AI capabilities that could give Chrome and Edge a reason to worry.

Samsung Browser for Windows allows users to continue browsing seamlessly as they switch between a Galaxy smartphone and a Windows PC, going beyond basic bookmark and history synchronisation to resume activity on the same webpage mid-session.

Samsung Pass integration accompanies the cross-device functionality and enables the browser to autofill login credentials and personal profile information securely across both mobile and desktop environments.

The more significant addition is an agentic AI assistant built into the browser in partnership with Perplexity, which understands natural language and reads the context of active pages and open tabs to carry out tasks rather than simply answer queries.

A user planning a trip, for example, can ask the browser to generate a structured itinerary based on the webpage currently in view, with the assistant analysing the content and producing an organised plan without requiring any manual input from the user.

Smarter search and tab management

The AI layer extends to video content as well, allowing the browser to identify specific moments within a video and jump directly to the relevant segment, removing the need to scrub through footage manually.

History search moves away from keyword or date-based retrieval, letting users describe a page in plain language and locate it without scrolling through a long browsing log. If you’ve ever desperately attempted to retrace your browsing steps but failed, you’ll know what a saver this could be.

Multi-tab awareness represents another departure from conventional browsing, with Samsung Browser able to summarise and compare content across several open tabs simultaneously, surfacing key differences or insights from multiple sources in a single response.

Samsung Browser for Windows supports devices running Windows 11 and Windows 10 version 1809 and above, with agentic AI features currently available in South Korea and the United States, and broader regional expansion planned for a future date.
