Netflix now costs $27 a month for 4K

Netflix has raised the price of all three of its subscription tiers, pushing its Premium 4K plan to $26.99 per month as the streaming giant continues a pattern of annual price increases.

The Standard with Ads plan now costs $8.99 per month, up from $7.99, while the ad-free Standard plan has risen from $17.99 to $19.99 per month, which enables simultaneous streaming on two devices.

Finally, the Premium plan, which includes Ultra HD, HDR, and support for up to four simultaneous streams, climbs from $24.99 to $26.99 per month.

The increases take effect immediately and arrive just two months after Netflix reported adding 23 million new subscribers over the past year – despite repeated price hikes over recent years.

In fact, Netflix last raised its prices in January 2025, and increased costs in each of the preceding years as well. Those hikes come after the streaming giant phased out its Basic plan entirely in 2024.

A pattern that keeps paying off

The timing places the increases against a backdrop of significant corporate activity, with Netflix having pledged $82.7 billion to acquire Warner Bros Discovery last December before walking away from that deal in January, leaving Paramount free to pursue the acquisition instead.

Despite the consistent price pressure on subscribers, Netflix’s financial results suggest the increases have done little to damage its standing, with the platform reporting $45.2 billion in full-year revenue, up 16% year on year, alongside 325 million total subscribers.

Content has undoubtedly played a considerable role in maintaining that loyalty, with titles including KPop Demon Hunters reported as being among the most-watched Netflix title in the platform’s history, keeping subscribers engaged through successive rounds of price increases.

The new pricing applies across all plans with immediate effect, though regional variations in pricing and availability may differ outside the United States.
