The Google Pixel 10a has quietly picked up an exclusive twist in Japan, with a new ‘Isai Blue’ colourway that you won’t find anywhere else.
Launched a month after the phone’s global debut, the Japan release adds this deep navy finish as a fifth option. This is alongside the standard Lavender, Fog, Berry and Obsidian models. But it’s not just a simple paint job.
In addition, this special edition arrives as part of Google’s 10th anniversary celebrations for the Pixel lineup, and it’s clearly aimed at long-time fans in the region. While the core hardware remains unchanged, Google has paired the Isai Blue version with a few extras. These make it feel more like a limited edition than a late regional rollout.
For starters, it is only available in a 256GB configuration, and only while supplies last. Buyers also get a custom retail box, bundled with a matching bumper case and stickers. There’s a set of exclusive wallpapers and software themes designed specifically for the colourway.
There’s also a creative angle here. Google worked with Heralbony on the release, a brand known for collaborating with artists with disabilities. This adds a bit more meaning behind what could’ve been just another regional variant.
Outside of the cosmetic changes, the hardware stays the same. The Pixel 10a still packs a 6.3-inch AMOLED display. It runs on the Tensor G4 chip and comes with 8GB of RAM. Therefore, performance should be identical to the global model.
Pricing starts at ¥79,900 (around $500), with pre-orders open now ahead of a May 20 shipping date.
It’s a small update in the grand scheme of things, but it’s the kind of regional exclusive that Pixel fans tend to notice. This is especially true when it comes with a bit more personality than just a new shade of blue.
