Aqara isn’t just launching a thermostat — it’s pitching something much closer to a full smart home command centre.
The new Aqara Thermostat Hub W200 bundles climate control, security features and automation into a single device.
At its core, the W200 still does the basics and manages your home’s temperature. But unlike traditional smart thermostats, it leans heavily into automation. There’s features like Apple’s Adaptive Temperature which uses your iPhone to adjust the thermostat based on your activity states, such as “home”, “sleep” or even “extended away”.

Additionally, it can adjust the temperature based on when energy is at its cheapest and when the grid is cleaner. Essentially, this means you’ll save money and reduce your overall energy use too.
Where things get more interesting is the hardware. Aqara has included an mmWave radar sensor that allows the thermostat to detect presence more accurately than standard motion sensors. That means it can react when you enter a room, and scale things back when you leave, without needing manual input.
It also doubles as a smart home hub. Pair it with compatible Aqara devices like doorbells or smart locks, and the built-in 4-inch touchscreen becomes a live control panel. You can check who’s at the door or unlock it directly from the thermostat. This is something that pushes it well beyond a typical wall-mounted controller.
Aqara is clearly targeting flexibility, too. The W200 supports Matter 1.4, Thread and Zigbee, meaning it can connect with a wide range of ecosystems including Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home and SmartThings. In total, it’s designed to manage over 50 types of connected devices. This makes it one of the more ambitious all-in-one hubs we’ve seen in this space.
The thermostat is compatible with most North American HVAC systems, including furnaces, boilers and heat pumps, and includes dual-band Wi-Fi for more stable connectivity.
The Aqara Thermostat Hub W200 is available now for $159.99, with a separate C-wire adapter priced at $29.99. A Matte Kit version is also planned for Apple Store release in September 2026, priced at $169.99.
For Aqara, this feels like a shift from single-purpose gadgets to something more central, a device that doesn’t just sit on your wall, but quietly runs your smart home in the background.
