Asus is taking a different approach to networking gear with its latest ProArt launch. This time, it’s not just about speed.
The new ProArt Router PRT-BE5000 swaps the usual antenna-heavy design for something far more subtle, and aims to blend into creative workspaces rather than stick out like traditional routers.
Routers aren’t exactly known for their good looks, yet Asus is clearly targeting creators who care just as much about their desk setup as they do performance.
Under the hood, though, this is still a serious bit of kit. The PRT-BE5000 is a dual-band WiFi 7 router with speeds of up to 5,000Mbps. It also offers support for Multi-Link Operation (MLO) and dual 2.5G WAN/LAN ports for more flexible wired connections. In short, it’s built to handle heavy workloads without slowing down.

What really sets it apart is Asus’ Creator-First adaptive QoE. Instead of treating all traffic equally, the router can prioritise tasks like large file transfers, cloud collaboration, or streaming on platforms like YouTube and Twitch. Essentially, it makes sure your work gets bandwidth before anything else on the network.
Alongside the router, Asus has also announced the ProArt Switch PQG-U1080, aimed at studios running multiple wired devices. It includes eight 2.5G Ethernet ports and two 10G SFP+ ports, making it a solid fit for connecting workstations, NAS drives and other high-bandwidth gear without clogging up your wireless network.
It’s also designed to be easy to live with. The switch supports desktop, magnetic and under-table mounting, and works with existing CAT5e cabling. As a result, you won’t need to rewire your entire setup to take advantage of the faster speeds.
Taken together, the ProArt router and switch feel like a clear push from Asus to make networking gear that’s both powerful and workspace-friendly. This is no longer something you’ll want to hide behind a desk.
