Huawei’s Watch Fit 5 Pro might be the most ambitious Fit wearable yet

Huawei’s Watch Fit line has steadily evolved from a glorified fitness band into something much closer to a full smartwatch.

Leading the new Watch Fit 5 series, the Pro model packs several features that previously felt reserved for Huawei’s higher-end GT watches, including ECG support, advanced golf tracking, free diving tools, and upgraded dual-band GPS. It also introduces the biggest display ever seen on a Fit wearable, a 1.92-inch AMOLED panel with an adaptive LTPO refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3000 nits.

Huawei clearly wants this to feel more premium than previous Fit devices, too. The Watch Fit 5 Pro uses sapphire glass, a titanium alloy bezel, and aviation-grade aluminium on the black and orange versions, while the white model features a ceramic-like matte finish that improves durability. The company also redesigned the crown with a polished and brushed texture to make it feel less “fitness tracker” and more smartwatch.

Fitness remains the main focus, though. The Watch Fit 5 series introduces 30 “mini workouts” — or what Huawei calls “exercise snacks” — alongside upgraded running metrics. There are cycling tools borrowed from the GT6, and offline maps powered by Huawei’s latest Sunflower GPS system. The Pro version also adds golf course maps for more than 17,000 courses along with free-diving support down to 40 metres.

Health tracking has been upgraded across the board as well. The Pro model includes ECG readings and arterial stiffness detection. All variants support atrial fibrillation monitoring, sleep breathing awareness, and a new “Nap Recap” feature designed to track short daytime naps.

The standard Watch Fit 5 scales some of that back, but still keeps much of the same core experience. The device features a smaller 1.82-inch AMOLED display, a recycled aluminium build, and up to 2500 nits of brightness. At the same time, it retains features like Strava and Komoot integration, offline music playback, and compatibility with both Android and iPhone devices through the Huawei Health app.

Battery life is rated at up to 10 days, or around seven days with heavier use.

The Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro is available to buy now for £249.99, while the regular Watch Fit 5 will set you back £159.99.
