PSB’s latest streaming speakers are packed full of IQ

PSB Speakers has introduced the iQ Series, a new line of all-in-one streaming speakers comprising the iQ1 and iQ2, with prices starting at £899 in the UK.

The new range builds on the acoustic platform PSB introduced in the Alpha iQ, extending that design with a fresh TI Burr Brown Class-D amplifier, cloth fabric grilles and more refined finishes across both models in the line-up.

There’s 270 watts of total system power, with a 90-watt dedicated amplifier for each woofer and tweeter amplification that varies depending on the wiring configuration used.

The wiring distinction separates the two speakers since the iQ1 connects its primary and secondary units through a wired stereo cable that keeps both channels synchronised for consistent stereo performance.

That fixed connection pairs with a shared two-channel amplifier delivering 45 watts per channel to the tweeters, making the iQ1 the more straightforward of the two models to set up.

Stepping up from the iQ1, the iQ2 relies on a low-latency wireless link to keep its left and right channels synchronised without a cable connecting the two cabinets. PSB has also paired that shared hardware with a DSP crossover and tuned bass ports, allowing both models to produce deeper bass output than their compact cabinet size would typically denote.

Streaming functionality runs through PSB’s BluOS platform, which connects to over 20 services including Amazon Music, Qobuz, Tidal and TuneIn, alongside support for AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and Bluetooth with aptX Adaptive.

Both models extend connectivity further with a built-in MM phono preamp for turntables, HDMI eARC for TVs and a USB-C input for connecting laptops or mobile devices directly to the system.

“With the new iQ series, we’re expanding what PSB represents for listeners today,” said Mack Tommy, Product Manager at PSB Speakers, adding that the range answers a shift among customers who want high-fidelity sound without the complexity of separate stereo components.

The iQ1 will be available from 10 August 2026 in Black or White finishes, priced at £899 / €999, while the iQ2 launches on 23 June 2026 at £1199 for its standard colour finishes and £1299 for the Walnut Veneer option, which follows later in November 2026.
