Anker is putting a new brain at the centre of the smart home with MindBase, a local AI hub designed to connect devices, process data and make decisions without relying on the cloud.
Announced at IFA 2026, MindBase combines whole-home connectivity, local AI processing and expandable storage in a single system. Anker says it is designed to connect its security, energy, cleaning and audio products into one locally run network, with privacy being a key part of the pitch.
At the heart of the system is Anker’s TrueSmart Agent, an on-device AI engine powered by an AI Core compute card. The company says its in-house large language model delivers 26 TOPS of computing power, allowing AI agents to perceive what is happening around the home, plan responses and take action locally.
MindBase is also designed to work beyond Anker’s own ecosystem. Its EasyOmni Link software supports close to 100 Anker devices alongside hundreds of Matter-compatible products, while also working with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Home Assistant. Existing HomeBase S380 footage can also be transferred to MindBase.
Storage is another major part of the system. Anker’s EverSafe Memory provides up to 48TB of expandable local storage, effectively turning MindBase into a NAS for photos, recordings, files and device data. The company says users will be able to search security footage using natural language, create highlight reels and analyse photos and videos without sending that information to the cloud.
The first application is security. The MindBase Security Kit combines the hub with the upcoming eufy TrackLight Cam S1, Video Doorbell S4, Smart Security Shield, and entry and motion sensors. Its Security Agent can assess events in real time and respond through lighting, verbal warnings or active deterrence.
The Smart Security Shield uses 180-degree dual-radar detection to identify people up to 15 metres away, while Anker’s DSKey digital credential can recognise family members from up to 30 metres.
Anker says MindBase will eventually support additional AI agents, including ones focused on energy management, cleaning and smart appliances. Pricing and availability for MindBase have not yet been announced, so there’s still plenty to learn about how much this autonomous-home vision will actually cost.
