Reolink has unveiled the OMVI 2i Ultra, a new outdoor security camera that combines two cameras, smart tracking and solar charging in a wire-free design.
The standout feature is Reolink’s dual-view setup. One camera uses a 4K wide-angle lens to keep an eye on the wider scene, while a second 3K pan-and-tilt camera can point in another direction and follow detected objects.
That’s where Reolink’s SyncTrack feature comes in. When the 4K camera detects a person, vehicle or animal, the 3K PT camera can take over tracking and follow the target through a full 360 degrees, even after it moves outside the wide camera’s field of view. You can also tap a specific point in the wide-angle view to direct the PT camera there.
The OMVI 2i Ultra is designed to avoid the usual hassle of running cables to an outdoor camera, too. Its detachable 10,000mAh battery can provide up to six months of use on a single charge, while Reolink’s SolarEase system can provide up to 6W of solar charging from around 30 minutes of daily sunlight.
Reolink has also packed in AI-powered detection for people, vehicles and animals, alongside colour night vision, active deterrence and two-way audio for monitoring after dark.
Connectivity comes via dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi 6, while the camera supports up to 512GB of local microSD storage. That should give users plenty of room for locally stored footage without necessarily relying on a cloud subscription.
The OMVI 2i Ultra is scheduled to launch in October 2026, although Reolink hasn’t revealed pricing yet. The combination of dual-camera coverage, long battery life and solar charging makes this an interesting option for anyone looking for a more flexible outdoor security setup.
