Philips has announced the Fidelio FA7 micro-hi-fi music system for those who want a hi-fi system but at a smaller scale.
The FA7 carries the Philips Fidelio sound signature into a compact micro system that produces an expansive stereo soundstage with deep, well-controlled bass, a clear midrange and smooth, detailed highs.
That sound comes from custom in-house drivers, a 5.25-inch woven glass-fibre cone woofer and a 1-inch titanium tweeter dome that combine light weight with excellent stiffness, while a tapered bass port supports low-frequency performance.
The system is bi-amped, with two integrated 60W amplifiers delivering a total of 120W RMS of power through an active crossover, one that powers the two mid/woofer drivers and the other dedicated to the two tweeters.
Philips has tuned the system to deliver deep detailed bass alongside clear, precise highs, with an emphasis on better dynamics, more accurate timing and a more precise soundstage.
A range of sources span CD playback, internet radio, on-demand podcasts, DAB+ and FM radio, alongside Wi-Fi streaming through AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect.
There’s Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint connectivity to connect to two devices at once, as well as LDAC and LC3 support enabling high-resolution 24-bit/96kHz streaming, while Auracast lets the FA7 broadcast audio to multiple compatible speakers for a larger listening setup.
The FA7 can also connect to external sources such as a turntable, TV or game console, through optical input, RCA AUX-in, USB-A memory playback and a 3.5mm audio input, alongside a 3.5mm headphone output.

In terms of its design, the Fidelio echoes classic hi-fi separates with a brushed aluminium main unit and high-gloss, piano-black speakers, with magnetic, acoustically transparent grilles that lift away easily to reveal the drivers underneath.
Up front, a clear colour display shows source, station and track information at a glance, and the system pairs a physical remote for everyday control with the Philips Entertainment app for source selection, bass and treble adjustment, firmware updates and Auracast setup.
The FA7 also uses GRS-certified recycled plastic, and its packaging combines FSC-certified recycled cardboard with recycled-paper inserts printed using soy-based ink, aligning the system with Philips’ wider sustainability push across its audio range.
Alongside those materials, the Philips Fidelio FA7 will be available from October 2026, priced at €599.99 / £509.99.
