Oppo’s next flagship phone could already be trailing some of its biggest rivals in one important area. A Geekbench listing suggests the base Oppo Find X10 will use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, rather than the newer flagship silicon expected to power competing phones.
The phone appeared on Geekbench under the model number “OPPO PMW110”, which matches earlier certifications linked to the Find X10. More importantly, the listing points to the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, with the chipset identified by its MT6993 designation and the Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 GPU.
That doesn’t mean the Find X10 will be slow. The Dimensity 9500 is still described as a strong performer, but it is expected to be a generation behind the silicon heading to some rival flagships. The Xiaomi 18 and Samsung Galaxy S27, for example, are expected to use Qualcomm’s next flagship chip, currently referred to as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
That could leave the standard Find X10 in an unusual position within Oppo’s own lineup, too. The company is expected to launch the Find X10 Pro Max alongside the base model, with the Pro Max positioned to compete with higher-end devices such as the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The choice of an older chipset for the standard model could therefore create a clearer performance divide between Oppo’s flagship tiers.
There may be a reason for Oppo taking this approach. The source points to the Vivo X500 potentially following a similar strategy, using the Dimensity 9500 while its Pro and Pro Max versions are expected to move to the upcoming Dimensity 9600 Pro.
For now, though, this remains a Geekbench leak rather than an official confirmation from Oppo. The Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max have recently appeared in certifications, suggesting their launches are getting closer, but Oppo hasn’t confirmed the final chipset lineup.
If the Geekbench listing is accurate, the Find X10 could still be a capable flagship, just not quite as cutting-edge under the hood as the phones it will be competing against.
