Apple is rolling out iOS 27 today, September 14, bringing its biggest iPhone software update of the year to users around the world. The update includes more advanced Siri AI capabilities and a range of other new features and refinements.
Apple has not given a specific worldwide release time. However, based on previous launches and its regional websites, iOS 27 is expected to arrive at around 10am PT / 1pm ET. That means the exact date depends on where you are. For example, much of Asia will receive the update in the early hours of September 15.
For the UK, iOS 27 should arrive at around 6pm BST today. Meanwhile, users in France, Germany, Italy and Spain can expect it at around 7pm CEST. In the US, that works out to 10am PDT, 11am MDT, noon CDT and 1pm EDT.
Moreover, if you are in India, the expected release time is 10:30pm IST, while Singapore, Hong Kong and China should see it at around 1am on September 15. Japan and South Korea then follow at around 2am. New Zealand gets it at approximately 5am.
For Australian users, the expected time is 1am AWST in Western Australia and 3am AEST in the east. Both will receive it on September 15.
It is important to note that these are expected times rather than a guarantee. Apple could experience some delays as its servers handle millions of simultaneous downloads.
Once the update is available, head to Settings > General > Software Update and check for iOS 27. Apple recommends having your iPhone charged and connected to Wi-Fi before starting the installation.
If you do not fancy waiting through a potentially sluggish download, there is no real need to rush. Major iOS releases can put considerable pressure on Apple’s servers. Given that, waiting a day or two could mean a much smoother update.
