Sekonda’s new subscription-free smart ring is surprisingly affordable

Sekonda is moving into smart rings with a surprisingly affordable £79.99 wearable that tracks everything from sleep and heart rate to blood oxygen, without a monthly subscription.

The Sekonda Smart Ring is designed as a more discreet alternative to a smartwatch, with a stainless-steel design available in gold or silver. It tracks health and wellbeing metrics throughout the day and night, including heart rate, HRV, SpO2, stress signals, skin temperature trends and women’s cycle tracking, while also monitoring sleep quality.

The data syncs with Apple Health and Health Connect, so you can use it with compatible health and wellness apps rather than being locked into Sekonda’s own ecosystem.

The ring itself is available in six sizes and is designed to look more like jewellery than a piece of tech. It has a slim profile, while its 50m water resistance means you can keep it on for everyday activities including swimming, workouts, commuting and sleeping.

Battery life is rated at five to seven days, and each ring comes with a charging case, USB charging cable and a silicone protective cover. The cover is intended to protect the ring from scratches during activities such as weight training and other high-impact tasks.

The Sekonda Smart Ring is now available to buy in gold and silver, with an RRP of £79.99, and is available from Sekonda, H Samuels, Argos and Amazon in the UK.

That makes it a relatively straightforward proposition: a small, jewellery-style wearable that quietly collects a useful range of health data, works with Apple’s and Google’s health platforms, and doesn’t ask you to keep paying after you’ve bought it.
