Honor’s iPhone Duo rival is said to arrive in January

Honor could be the next major phone maker to jump into the wide-format foldable race.

A new leak claims the company is preparing a foldable with a larger outer screen, a roomy inner display and a huge battery, potentially putting it on a collision course with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Apple’s iPhone Duo.

According to leaker Digital Chat Station, Honor’s upcoming foldable will feature a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner display. The phone is also tipped to pack a 7,000mAh-plus battery, which would give it plenty of capacity compared to Samsung and Apple’s competing options.

The cameras could be another major selling point. The leak claims Honor is planning a 200MP main camera alongside a periscope zoom lens. That zoom camera could give the phone an advantage over some of its biggest rivals, with both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and iPhone Duo lacking a dedicated telephoto sensor.

As for when we might see it, another leaker, Smart Pikachu, reportedly points to a January launch. It isn’t clear whether that date applies to China only or whether Honor plans a wider international release at the same time, but given previous foldable launches, it’s likely the former for now.

The timing makes sense as the foldable market increasingly moves toward this wider format. Honor’s current Magic V6 was already one of the more notable foldables of 2026, so a new content-friendly design with a bigger battery and dedicated zoom camera could be an interesting follow-up.

For now, Honor hasn’t confirmed the device or its launch date. But if the January timing is accurate, we shouldn’t have to wait long to see whether Honor can make the wide-format foldable its own.
