Samsung’s next flagship smartphone lineup could arrive sooner than expected, with a new leak suggesting the Galaxy S27 series is being prepped for a January 2027 launch. The company is also reportedly preparing some noticeable design changes, particularly for its more expensive models.
According to leaker yeux1122, Samsung is currently targeting January for the Galaxy S27 launch, moving away from the February schedule used for the Galaxy S26 series earlier this year.
However, the earlier release is far from guaranteed, as shortages of LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 storage could push the announcement back to February. Both components are reportedly becoming increasingly expensive amid the ongoing memory shortage.
Meanwhile, leakers @UniverseIce and @Saurav_DJ147 have shared images of protective cases that offer another look at the possible designs of Samsung’s next flagship phones.
The leaks suggest the Galaxy S27 lineup could feature four models with two noticeably different camera designs. The standard Galaxy S27 and S27+ are expected to retain the familiar pill-shaped camera module, while the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra could adopt a larger rectangular camera housing resembling Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro models.
The design changes could also come with higher prices. According to the rumours, Samsung may keep pricing unchanged for the standard Galaxy S27 and S27+, while reserving increases for its premium models.
The smaller Galaxy S27 Pro is reportedly expected to cost as much as the current Galaxy S26 Ultra, while the Galaxy S27 Ultra could see a $100 price increase. Higher RAM and storage configurations may also become more expensive as component costs continue to rise.
For now, Samsung hasn’t confirmed the Galaxy S27 lineup, its pricing or its release date. With several months still to go before the expected announcement, both the design and launch schedule could change, particularly if memory shortages continue to affect production.
