Xiaomi 18 Pro series launches globally this month, with one possible downgrade

Xiaomi has confirmed that its Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max smartphones will launch globally later this month, following their debut in China back in September.

While the company hasn’t announced an exact release date, early European retailer listings have already revealed possible pricing, specifications and a notable change to battery capacity.

According to a recent social media post from Xiaomi, both flagship phones are preparing for their international debut. The announcement comes shortly after the devices appeared on Italian retailer Epto’s website, offering an early look at what European buyers can expect.

The listings suggest that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will start at €1,398.90 for the model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Meanwhile, the larger Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is listed at €1,783.90, with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Both phones are expected to arrive in three colours: Black, White and Velvet Red, although Xiaomi has yet to confirm official European pricing.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is the battery capacity. While most specifications appear to carry over from the Chinese models, the international versions could come with noticeably smaller batteries. The Xiaomi 18 Pro is listed with a 6,000mAh battery, down from the 7,000mAh cell found in China, while the Pro Max could drop from a massive 8,500mAh to 7,050mAh.

That’s a fairly significant reduction, particularly for the Pro Max, which would lose 1,450mAh of battery capacity. Although both international models would still offer sizeable batteries on paper, the change could affect how long they last between charges. Actual battery performance will depend on more than capacity alone, however.

As of now, Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed whether these differences will make it into the final global models. With the official launch scheduled for November, it shouldn’t be long before we find out exactly what international buyers will be getting and whether the retailer’s pricing proves accurate.
