Amazon has unveiled a new Alexa Photo Frame designed to bring your favourite pictures out of your camera roll and into your home.
Unlike traditional digital photo frames, this one uses Alexa+ to automatically select and organise photos, making it easier to revisit memories without having to sort through hundreds of images yourself.
The frame was announced alongside several new Alexa-powered devices, including a smart alarm clock and a 16-inch Echo Show. It connects to Amazon Photos, which offers unlimited photo storage to Prime members, and features a 10-inch HD touchscreen with a semi-matte coating to reduce reflections. The display also adjusts its brightness to suit the surrounding light, while a real wood border and off-white matting give it the appearance of a traditional picture frame.
What makes it particularly interesting is how Alexa+ handles your photos. Amazon says its AI assistant can analyse images based on the people, dates and occasions captured, automatically choosing which ones to display. It can even bring up seasonal memories, such as Halloween costumes around October, while filtering out less relevant images like screenshots. Users can also ask Alexa to find photos from specific events or display similar moments taken years apart, such as recreating a childhood photograph.
There’s a more personal side to it, too. Users can record voice notes explaining the stories behind particular photos, while family members can contribute their own pictures remotely. It’s a useful addition for anyone wanting to keep relatives updated without constantly sending photos through messaging apps.
The Alexa Photo Frame starts at $199.99 for the Black version, while the Birch and Walnut finishes cost $229. It’s not currently available in the UK, although we’ll let you know if that does change.
While Amazon already has Echo Show devices capable of displaying photos, the dedicated frame takes a different approach by putting personal memories first rather than treating them as another smart display feature.
