Adobe is making it easier for creators to add popular music to their videos, announcing a new partnership with Universal Music Group (UMG) and Warner Music Group (WMG) that will bring licensed tracks directly to its Premiere mobile app.
The update means users will be able to browse and add songs from both record labels without leaving the editing app. More importantly, videos featuring these tracks can be shared across social media for personal use without worrying about copyright strikes or takedown notices, provided they follow the licensing terms.
There is one catch, though. Users can only include up to 60 seconds of a licensed song in their videos, meaning anyone hoping to use a full track will still face restrictions. The music is also limited to personal use, so businesses and commercial creators won’t be covered by the same agreement.
To make finding the right soundtrack easier, Adobe is introducing search filters for genre and duration, alongside the option to bookmark favourite tracks. There will also be a featured collection highlighting popular songs, while customisable video templates with preloaded music should help users get started without spending too much time searching through the library.
For commercial projects, Adobe points users towards its existing stock audio service, although it hasn’t confirmed whether that includes the same Universal and Warner tracks available through Premiere mobile.
The announcement follows Adobe’s continued expansion of Premiere on smartphones. The app first launched on iPhone in 2025 before arriving on Android in September 2026, giving creators another way to edit videos without relying on a desktop. Adobe has also introduced a dedicated YouTube Shorts workspace on iOS and expanded its AI-powered editing tools across the desktop version of Premiere.
Music from Universal and Warner will begin appearing in Premiere mobile soon, although Adobe hasn’t provided an exact rollout date. For creators regularly posting videos to social media, the addition could make finding and using licensed music considerably more straightforward.
