Lego has finally gone where it’s never gone before. The company’s first Star Trek set is a stunning 3000-piece recreation of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D from The Next Generation, and it’s every bit as impressive as you’d hope.
The massive model measures nearly two feet long and features a detachable command saucer, a pair of warp nacelles with distinctive red and blue detailing, and an opening shuttlebay complete with two miniature shuttlepods.
It sits on an angled display stand with a collector’s plaque listing the ship’s launch details and construction site – just the sort of nerdy precision Star Trek fans will appreciate.
Of course, the crew’s all here. The set comes with nine detailed minifigures, each paired with iconic accessories straight from the show. Captain Jean-Luc Picard has his signature teacup, Commander William Riker brings a trombone, Lieutenant Commander Data is joined by his cat Spot, and Lieutenant Worf wields a phaser.

Rounding out the lineup are Wesley Crusher with a portable tractor beam generator, Counsellor Deanna Troi, bartender Guinan, Dr. Beverly Crusher, and Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge with a tricorder, engineering case, and PADD tablet.
The Enterprise NCC-1701-D set will be available from November 28th in Lego’s online and retail stores for $399.99/£349.99. That’s certainly a lot of cash, although recent higher-end Lego sets haven’t been particularly known for their affordability, so it’s hardly surprising this is anything but cheap.
At least those who buy before December 1 will also get an exclusive bonus: a separate Star Trek: Type-15 Shuttlepod mini-set.

It’s a landmark release for Lego, marking its first collaboration with the Star Trek franchise, a partnership that fans have been waiting decades for. And judging by the level of detail on display, it looks like the wait was worth it.
