Wyze is stepping up its fitness game with the Ultra Body Scan, its most advanced and most expensive smart scale to date – and the first one with a retractable handle for segmented body measurements.
The $119.98 Ultra BodyScan is a big jump from Wyze’s usual budget range but still undercuts high-end rivals like Withings’ $499.95 Body Scan, which offers similar functionality.
By using eight electrodes, four on the scale and four on the handle, the Ultra BodyScan can measure your arms, legs, and torso individually, giving a more detailed and accurate breakdown of your overall composition.
Like Wyze’s cheaper Scale X ($38), the Ultra BodyScan tracks 13 metrics including weight, body fat percentage, BMI, muscle mass, bone mass, and body water percentage. But thanks to that new handle, the readings are more precise and segmented, a major step up for users who want deeper insights into their training or health progress.
Where it falls behind the pricier Withings model is in heart monitoring. Both scales can capture your heart rate during a weigh-in, but Withings’ Body Scan goes further with EKG readings, cardiovascular assessments, and even A-fib detection. Wyze’s approach, by contrast, keeps things simpler but also far more affordable.
Yet, the Ultra BodyScan includes a 4.3-inch colour screen that shows detailed breakdowns for up to eight users, as well as trends over time. It syncs data over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to the Wyze app, and it plays nicely with Google Fit and Apple Health for broader tracking.
Battery life should last around nine months on four AAA batteries, and there’s even a pet and luggage mode for when you’re weighing more than just yourself.
The Wyze Ultra BodyScan is available now from Wyze’s online store. It’s still a fraction of the price of Withings’ top-tier models, but with the same sleek display and more advanced tracking than ever, it might just be the sweet spot for anyone who wants precision without the premium price tag.
