Xiaomi is getting in on the smart glasses fun with its Mijia specs

Xiaomi is expanding its ecosystem again, this time stepping into smart eyewear with the launch of Mijia Smart Audio Glasses.

Rather than going all-in on cameras or displays, Xiaomi’s take focuses on open-ear audio, everyday comfort, and a design that still looks like regular glasses.

The Mijia Smart Audio Glasses feature built-in speakers and four microphones, allowing users to listen to music or take calls without blocking out the world around them.

Xiaomi says wind noise reduction works up to 4.5m/s, making them better suited for outdoor use, whether that’s city walks or commuting. There’s also a privacy mode that uses a custom algorithm to reduce sound leakage, keeping calls more discreet.

Design is clearly a big part of the appeal. The glasses come in three styles — Browline, Pilot-Style, and Titanium — each aiming to blend smart features into a familiar frame. All versions support prescription lenses, while Browline and Titanium models include up to 25% blue light protection.

The Pilot-Style option leans more into sunglasses territory, offering UV400 protection with up to 99.99% UV blocking.

Comfort has also been a focus. Xiaomi says the Titanium model weighs just 27.6g, and battery placement towards the ends of the temples helps keep the frame slim, with a profile down to 5mm near the ears. Durability hasn’t been overlooked either, with IP54 dust and splash resistance and reinforced hinges rated for 15,000 flexes.

Battery life should be enough for a full day. A 10-minute fast charge delivers around four hours of playback, while a full charge takes roughly an hour and provides up to 13 hours of continuous music.

Control happens through touch gestures on the temples and via the new Xiaomi Glasses app, which allows users to customise controls, switch between devices thanks to dual-device connectivity, and even locate misplaced glasses. Recording features are included too, with a built-in LED lighting up during recordings for privacy.

The Mijia Smart Audio Glasses go on sale in the UK from 26 January 2026, priced at £169.99 for Browline and Pilot-Style, and £189.99 for the Titanium version.
