The Xbox app is now available on these previously left out Windows 11 machines

Microsoft has finally brought the Xbox app to Arm-based Windows 11 PCs, unlocking Game Pass libraries and cloud gaming for devices that were previously excluded.

This marks a major step in making Windows on Arm a more complete platform for gamers.

This news means that owners of devices powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chips can now download, install, and enjoy the same Xbox experience that has been available on x86 systems for a long time. This includes access to Game Pass, cloud streaming, and the ability to purchase and manage PC titles directly through the app.

Arm-based PCs have often been praised for their battery life and portability, but gamers faced a frustrating gap: the Xbox app was missing. This meant that there was no seamless Game Pass integration and that there was even limited access to Microsoft’s gaming ecosystem.

With this update, Microsoft closes that gap. More than 85% of the Game Pass catalogue now runs on Arm PCs, thanks to improvements in the Prism emulator and support for AVX and AVX2 instructions.

Performance and Compatibility

The Xbox app on Arm PCs currently supports:

Game Pass library management

Cloud gaming via Xbox Cloud Gaming

Game purchases and downloads

Cross-device save syncing

Microsoft’s Prism emulator plays a key role here, translating x86 and x64 apps to Arm efficiently. This ensures smoother gameplay and better compatibility with modern titles.

This move comes as Arm-based Windows devices gain traction, especially in lightweight laptops and handheld PCs. Microsoft’s decision signals confidence in Arm as a viable gaming platform. It also strengthens the appeal of Game Pass, which thrives on accessibility across devices.

If you own an Arm-based Windows 11 PC, this update is a blessing for you. It transforms your machine into a more versatile gaming device. You can now tap into the same ecosystem as traditional PCs without compromise. Furthermore, the inclusion of the Xbox app makes Arm devices far more attractive.
