The latest software update for Google’s Pixel 10 lineup is causing more problems than it fixes.
Users of the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL are reporting that the January 2026 update has broken core features including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Some are also claiming camera issues after installing it.
The update, which rolled out last week, was supposed to deliver routine bug fixes, security patches and improved GPU performance. Instead, reports suggest it’s left some phones struggling to stay connected — or unable to connect at all.
Complaints have been piling up across Reddit and Google’s own support forums. While it’s hard to say exactly how widespread the issue is, it doesn’t appear isolated. For example, one Reddit user responded to a report by saying, “you’re certainly not the only one,” which sums up the general mood among affected owners.
Most of the reports centre on the Pixel 10 series, but other devices may not be completely in the clear. At least one Pixel 8 Pro owner has said their Wi-Fi stopped working after installing the same update. This suggests the bug may extend beyond Google’s latest hardware.
The bigger problem is that there’s currently no reliable fix. Users say they’ve tried the usual troubleshooting steps — rebooting, safe mode, resetting network settings and even factory resets — without success. However, one workaround floating around involves disabling Google Play Services and the Fitbit app. That comes with obvious downsides, including losing access to the Play Store and breaking other Google apps.
If you haven’t installed the update yet, the safest move is to hold off, especially if you’re using a Pixel 10 model. If you’ve already updated and are affected, the only realistic option right now is to wait for Google to issue a patch.
Google hasn’t acknowledged the problem publicly yet, and there’s no word on when a fix might arrive. We’ve reached out for comment and will update this story if Google responds. For now, it’s an unfortunate reminder that even routine updates can sometimes do more harm than good.
