There could finally be some proper competition to the Galaxy Z Fold, and it’s not coming from Apple

Oppo could finally be ready to take its next foldable worldwide.

According to a new leak, the Oppo Find N6 is expected to launch globally alongside its China debut. This move would mark a clear shift from the company’s recent foldable strategy.

Reliable leaker Yogesh Brar claims Oppo is planning a simultaneous release on 17 March. Europe and parts of South Asia are set to receive the Find N6 at the same time as China. That’s notable. Oppo skipped a proper global rollout with the Find N5, leaving the OnePlus Open as the brand’s most recent foldable option in many regions. However, that device is based on the older Find N3.

If the leak holds up, the Find N6 could land months before Samsung’s next big foldable. The device is tipped to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Therefore, it could potentially beat the Galaxy Z Fold8 to market and position Oppo as one of the first brands to ship the new flagship chipset in a foldable.

Details are still thin, but early rumours suggest Oppo is aiming high on hardware. The Find N6 is said to feature a 200MP primary camera, putting it in direct competition with Samsung’s upcoming foldables and premium slab phones. It’s also expected to be thinner and lighter than the Find N5. That would be a welcome upgrade, given how competitive foldable design has become over the past year.

Interestingly, the reported rollout doesn’t include India – despite OnePlus traditionally focusing heavily on that market. That lines up with earlier reports suggesting the OnePlus Open 2 was quietly cancelled. This could potentially leave Oppo to handle foldables directly under its own brand this time around.

There’s still plenty we don’t know. Oppo hasn’t shared official images, pricing, or final specs. It’s unclear whether the Find N6 will look closer to the book-style Galaxy Fold or Oppo’s more compact foldable designs. That said, a global launch alone would already make it one of Oppo’s most significant foldables yet.

If Oppo really does pull off a near-simultaneous worldwide release, the Find N6 could arrive as a serious alternative to Samsung’s next foldable. It would also be a rare chance for non-China markets to get Oppo’s latest hardware without waiting months, or at all.
