New teasers and leaks showcase the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s killer feature

Samsung has teased the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s headline upgrade for a second time. If the latest video is anything to go by, the new Privacy Display could be more than just a marketing trick.

While leaks suggest the wider Galaxy S26 series won’t differ dramatically from the Galaxy S25 lineup, the Ultra model appears to be getting a standout addition.

Privacy Display is designed to limit viewing angles, effectively blocking the screen from anyone looking at it side-on. In Samsung’s latest teaser video, the feature is shown shielding on-screen content from prying eyes in public spaces. A simple toggle enables the effect.

The timing is notable. The teaser ends with a February 25 date — widely expected to be the Galaxy S26 launch event — and current rumours point to Privacy Display being exclusive to the S26 Ultra model.

Beyond the basic “blank the screen” demo shown in the video, recent leaks suggest the feature may be more sophisticated.

Screenshots shared by leaker Tarun Vats indicate multiple privacy controls, including options to automatically activate the feature when using sensitive apps or when the phone detects you’re in a crowded environment.

Other toggles reportedly allow users to dim the display for added discretion. They also let you selectively hide lock screen content, notifications, images and picture-in-picture windows. If accurate, that would make Privacy Display a customisable system rather than a simple on/off filter.

However, the leaked screenshots contain inconsistencies and typos including variations between “Privacy Display” and “Private Display” raising questions about whether the images represent unfinished software or something less legitimate.

Either way, Samsung is clearly positioning the feature as the Ultra’s defining upgrade. With just days to go before the expected announcement, we won’t have long to find out whether Privacy Display is a genuinely useful privacy tool.

Alternatively, it may simply be a niche add-on aimed at commuters who don’t want their seatmates peeking at their screens.
