The TCL Nxtpaper 70 Pro is designed to be kinder to your eyes

TCL has introduced the Nxtpaper 70 Pro, a mid-range smartphone that places eye comfort at the centre of its design through seven integrated hardware and software technologies addressing screen fatigue across outdoor, indoor, and night-time viewing conditions.

Unveiled at MWC 2026 in Barcelona, the device carries Nxtpaper 4.0, TCL’s combined approach to visual comfort. It holds Low Visual Fatigue A+2.1 SGS certification, Dim-Light Eye Protection SGS certification, and Flicker Free TÜV certification from internationally recognised testing bodies.

Digital eye fatigue has emerged as a genuine consumer pain point as average screen time continues to rise globally, pushing display manufacturers to compete on comfort metrics alongside traditional benchmarks like brightness and colour accuracy.

A dedicated Nxtpaper Key on the chassis lets users switch between Colour Paper Mode, Ink Paper Mode, and Max Ink Mode without navigating settings menus, giving the eye-care features a physical shortcut that few competing smartphones in this price range offer.

Max Ink Mode delivers a monochrome paper-like display state built for extended reading, with the phone claiming up to seven days of reading time and up to 26 days on standby in that mode, accompanied by a built-in bookstore and AI reading tools including AI Outline, AI Q&A, AI Audiobook, and AI Podcast.

Harmful blue light output is reduced to as low as 3.41%, while Circular Polarised Light technology and nano-matrix lithography anti-glare handling address reflections in bright outdoor conditions, and brightness drops to a 1-nit minimum for night-time use with DC dimming, keeping the display flicker-free.

Camera and performance

The camera system pairs a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilisation alongside an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 32MP front camera, with TCL’s MuseFilm imaging software adding cinematic 4K video, Super Night Mode, and CCD-style filters for a film-inspired aesthetic.

A MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor handles everyday performance alongside 8GB of RAM expandable to 24GB through RAM Expansion, up to 512GB of storage, and a 5,200mAh battery with 33W fast charging, with IP68 dust and water resistance covering real-world durability.

Gemini integration supports voice queries, on-screen content selection for deeper search, real-time subtitles, and face-to-face translation, positioning the device within the growing segment of mid-range smartphones that bring AI language tools to everyday multilingual communication.

The TCL NXTPAPER 70 Pro is available now in Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa, and North America, priced at €299 for the 256GB model and €359 for the 512GB variant.
