iRobot has unveiled the Roomba Mini Robot Vacuum & Mop, its most compact robot cleaner yet.
Designed to squeeze into tighter spaces than traditional models, the new device combines vacuuming and mopping in a smaller body. Nevertheless, it still aims to deliver the same everyday cleaning power the Roomba line is known for.
The Roomba Mini is roughly half the size of the Roomba 105. iRobot says this helps it glide under low furniture.
It reaches corners where larger robot vacuums often struggle. Despite the smaller footprint, it’s built to handle both vacuuming and mopping tasks. It uses disposable mopping pads that trap dust, dirt and grime. These pads also leave behind a light citrus scent.
Navigation is handled by ClearView LiDAR. This allows the robot to map rooms, avoid obstacles and steer clear of rugs when mopping. Like many of iRobot’s higher-end models, it also supports a self-emptying system. The bundled AutoEmpty Dock automatically transfers debris into an AllergenLock bag. This provides up to three months of hands-free cleaning before it needs to be replaced.
Control options are fairly flexible. You can start a cleaning session through the Roomba Home app. Alternatively, you can trigger it via voice assistants like Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant. Or you can simply press the button on the robot itself. Besides, iRobot notes that basic operation works even without Wi-Fi. This could be handy for quick clean-ups.
The Mini was originally developed for smaller Japanese homes, where compact layouts demand smaller appliances. After launching in Japan in February, where the black version reportedly sold out quickly, iRobot is now bringing it to Europe and the UK. It is positioning it as a good fit for apartments or homes with tighter floor plans.
Visually, the robot leans into that smaller, lifestyle-friendly design. It’s available in four colours — pink, mint, white and black. This makes it one of the more playful-looking Roombas the company has released.
The Roomba Mini Robot Vacuum & Mop + AutoEmpty Dock is available now across the UK and Europe through iRobot’s website. It is priced at £379 / €399.
