HP’s EliteBook business laptops just keep on getting better and better

HP has refreshed its business laptop lineup with the new EliteBook 6 G2 series. This update adds support for AMD and Intel processors across a wide range of configurations.

The new models, split between the EliteBook 6 G2a (AMD) and EliteBook 6 G2i (Intel), come in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. HP is offering multiple variants aimed at different business needs. These include lightweight builds, AI-focused models and even Chromebook options.

At the centre of the update is the move to newer silicon. Intel configurations can be specced up to Core 7 250U processors, paired with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Meanwhile, AMD variants sit alongside them as part of HP’s broader push to offer more choice across its enterprise devices. The EliteBook 6 G2 also joins the higher-end EliteBook 8 series in adopting these newer platforms.

HP is also leaning into niche use cases. There are ‘Next Gen AI PC’ variants in both AMD and Intel lines, alongside Thin Client versions, although these are limited to Intel models only. Meanwhile, the Chromebook Plus edition is exclusive to the 14-inch Intel G2i. It targets users who prefer ChromeOS over Windows.

In total, HP has created 13 different configurations under the EliteBook 6 G2 umbrella. This effectively replaces the previous G1 generation with a much broader and more flexible lineup.

Beyond processors and form factors, HP hasn’t shared much in the way of deeper specs or pricing just yet. What we do know is that the new EliteBook 6 G2 range is set to launch in June 2026. However, pricing is still under wraps for now.

For businesses, though, the direction is clear. Rather than a single flagship model, HP is doubling down on choice. This applies whether that’s AMD or Intel, Windows or ChromeOS, or standard laptops versus more specialised enterprise setups.
