HP has announced a new range of LaserJet printers aimed at businesses juggling hybrid work and increasing pressure to digitise documents faster.
The updated lineup includes the LaserJet Pro 4000/4100 Series for small teams and the more powerful LaserJet Enterprise 5000/6000 Series for larger organisations. Both pack AI features, faster performance and a stronger focus on security.
The headline upgrade is speed. HP says its new printers can process documents up to 50% faster. At the same time, they lean heavily on AI to streamline everyday tasks like scanning, organising and sharing files.
For smaller businesses, the LaserJet Pro 4000/4100 Series focuses on simplicity and cost savings. It’s designed for teams without dedicated IT support. It offers quick setup, easier management and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity with self-reset for more stable connections. Meanwhile, HP is also promising up to 25% lower running costs compared to the previous generation, thanks to its updated TerraJet toner.
Security is another big push here. HP claims this is the first SMB printer with quantum-resistant protection. It also includes tamper-resistant firmware and toner systems, a sign that even smaller offices are being targeted with more advanced threats.
The Enterprise 5000/6000 Series, meanwhile, is built for heavier workloads. It delivers print speeds of up to 57 pages per minute and two-sided scanning at up to 200 images per minute. This makes it better suited to busy office environments handling large volumes of paperwork.
This is also where HP’s AI tools take centre stage. Features like HP Scan AI Enhanced and editable OCR can turn scanned documents into searchable files quickly. Automated redaction tools can remove sensitive information without manual input. There’s even support for Microsoft 365 Copilot integration, bringing AI-powered summarising and document organisation directly to the printer interface.
Both ranges are designed with sustainability in mind too, with energy-efficient certifications. The toner uses less material or recycled plastics.
The Enterprise series is expected to roll out for contract customers from March, with wider availability in June. The Pro 4000/4100 models will follow in May, though HP hasn’t confirmed pricing just yet.
