Your Galaxy S25 is getting the best Galaxy S26 features

Samsung is finally bringing some of its latest AI tricks to older phones, providing access to key Galaxy S26 features on last year’s Galaxy S25 for free.

After weeks of complaints from users, the company has confirmed that several headline features from the Galaxy S26 will roll out to the S25 series via a future One UI 8.5 update. That includes the much-talked-about AI-powered call screening, a feature that debuted on the newer flagship.

The confirmation came from a Samsung community moderator, shared by Tarun Vats on X. It follows growing frustration online about missing features and a delayed update schedule. While there’s still no exact release date, the update is now officially in the works.

A rollout is expected to begin in Samsung’s home market before expanding globally. As usual, unlocked US devices and carrier versions should follow. However, timing may vary by region.

Call screening is just the start. Based on the current Galaxy S26 feature set, S25 users can also expect a broader suite of Galaxy AI upgrades.

These include Agentic AI improvements for smarter task handling, Now Nudge for contextual suggestions, and Notification Highlights to surface what matters most. There’s also an upgraded Audio Eraser for cleaning up background noise in videos. In addition, there are Enhanced Photo Assist tools and a more capable version of Bixby that’s better integrated across the system.

It’s a notable shift for Samsung, which doesn’t always bring its newest features to older devices so quickly. This time, though, user feedback seems to have made a difference.

If Samsung sticks to its usual update cycle, we’ll likely see a One UI 8.5 beta land first. A wider stable rollout will follow in the months after. Either way, it’s good news for S25 owners: your phone is about to get much closer to the S26 experience without the upgrade cost.
