Samsung has launched a refrigerator that uses a built-in AI Vision camera to automatically identify, log, and track wine bottles as they enter and leave the unit.
The AI Vision camera, mounted at the top of the fridge interior, activates when the door opens and scans each bottle’s label to record details including the wine’s name, variety, and vintage directly into Samsung’s SmartThings app via the AI Wine Manager feature, updating the inventory list in real time whenever bottles are moved or removed.
Users can check their full wine inventory, current storage locations, and management status through the AI Wine Manager, which also generates food pairing recommendations based on the bottles currently stored inside, extending the feature set beyond simple inventory tracking into an advisory role.
Storage and temperature control
The fridge holds up to 101 bottles across three independently controlled temperature zones, ranging from 3°C to 18°C, allowing different wine varieties to be stored simultaneously at their optimal temperatures without compromise.
A central Multi-Pantry compartment offers five dedicated modes covering wine, ham and sausage, nuts, cheese, and fruit, giving the unit broader utility as a premium food storage appliance rather than a single-purpose wine cellar.
The front door uses triple UV-blocking glass that filters approximately 92 percent of ultraviolet light, protecting wine from light-induced deterioration while also helping maintain a consistent internal temperature regardless of ambient conditions.
A black metal interior lining works alongside tunnel lighting to create a premium aesthetic, while the material also aids cold retention and supports even temperature distribution throughout the cabinet, reducing the risk of warm spots that could affect sensitive bottles.
The Infinite AI Wine Fridge is priced at 6,499,000 Korean Won (approximately $4270 / £3280) and is available now through Samsung’s website and offline retail stores in South Korea.
