YouTube Premium subscribers in the United States are facing another round of price increases, with every tier of the ad-free service set to cost more from the June 2026 billing period onwards.
Rather than announcing the changes publicly, YouTube has been notifying affected subscribers directly via email, with screenshots of those emails shared by Reddit users and reported by 9to5Google, confirming the increases across all four plan types.
The individual plan rises by $2 to $16 per month, while the family plan, which covers up to six accounts, increases by $4 to $27 per month, making it the steepest hike in the current round of changes for subscribers who share the service across a household. No UK price change has come into force yet.
The more affordable tiers are also affected, with the Lite plan, which covers ad-free viewing on most YouTube videos but excludes music, rising by $1 to $9 per month, and YouTube Music Premium increasing by the same amount to $12 per month.

That Music Premium price point now places it above Apple Music as a standalone subscription, though it is worth noting that YouTube Music Premium is bundled into both the individual and family YouTube Premium plans at no additional cost.
The last time YouTube raised its Premium prices was in 2023, when the individual plan also went up by $2, meaning the service has now increased in price twice within three years for US subscribers.
The increases arrive in a broader context of streaming services adjusting their pricing upward, with Spotify raising its rates by comparable amounts in February 2026 and Netflix increasing the cost of all its plans the following month.
YouTube Premium’s ad-free viewing extends across YouTube, YouTube Kids, and YouTube Music, with offline downloads and background listening included across all full-tier plans.
YouTube Premium is changing prices only in the US at the moment, though the service has historically rolled out price adjustments to other regions in the months following a US increase, meaning subscribers elsewhere may want to keep an eye on their billing notifications.
