DJI Osmo Pocket 4 release date, price officially revealed, after numerous leaks

DJI has officially taken the wraps off the Osmo Pocket 4, ending weeks of speculation with a meaningful upgrade to its pocket-sized camera lineup. This time, it’s clearly leaning harder into image quality and creator-friendly features.

At the centre of it all is a 1-inch CMOS sensor, now capable of shooting 4K at 240fps. It also offers 14 stops of dynamic range and 10-bit D-Log. In short, it’s designed to deliver more flexibility in post. You also get noticeably better low-light performance. This is something previous Pocket models struggled with.

That hardware upgrade is backed by a brighter f/2.0 aperture, helping capture cleaner shots at night, with more natural skin tones and improved detail in high-contrast scenes. Furthermore, there’s also a dedicated zoom button for quick switching between 1x and 2x lossless zoom. It supports up to 4x when needed.

DJI is also doubling down on smart shooting. The Osmo Pocket 4 introduces updated ActiveTrack 7.0, which can follow subjects even at higher zoom levels. There are also new tracking modes like Dynamic Framing and Spotlight Follow. Features like Subject Lock Tracking and gesture controls including palm detection to start tracking aim to make solo shooting far easier.

The familiar three-axis stabilisation remains, but usability has been reworked. You can now start recording by simply rotating the screen. In addition, a new 5D joystick adds more precise control over movement and framing. There’s also 107GB of built-in storage, with transfer speeds up to 800MB/s. This reduces the need for memory cards altogether.

On the audio side, the camera supports direct pairing with DJI’s Mic transmitters for four-channel recording, alongside its built-in microphone array.

Battery life has also improved, with up to 240 minutes of 1080p recording, and fast charging that takes it from 0 to 80% in just 18 minutes.

For creators looking for a compact, all-in-one filming tool, this feels like DJI refining a formula that already worked, just with fewer compromises this time around.
