Samsung has quietly raised prices across its Galaxy Book 6 lineup, and the increases aren’t small.
With the base model now finally available in the US, the entry price has jumped to $1249. This is up from the originally announced $1049. Meanwhile, higher-end configurations have climbed by as much as $600.
That means what was meant to be a relatively accessible starting point for Samsung’s latest Windows laptops is now firmly in premium territory.
The newly released base Galaxy Book 6 comes in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. It is powered by Intel’s Core Ultra 5 325 or Core Ultra 7 355 chips. All configurations ship with 16GB of RAM, alongside either 512GB or 1TB of storage. This is a solid spec sheet, but one that now costs noticeably more than expected.
And it’s not just the base model taking the hit.
Samsung has increased pricing across the Galaxy Book 6 Pro and Ultra range too. Some of the biggest jumps are reserved for higher-spec variants. For example, the 14-inch Galaxy Book 6 Pro with 512GB storage has risen by $200. In addition, upgraded configurations with more RAM and storage now cost up to $450 more. At the very top end, the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra with RTX 5060 graphics has seen a steep $600 increase. This pushes it to $3,599.
It’s a significant shift, especially for a lineup that only launched earlier this year with more aggressive pricing.
It’s hitting the industry everywhere
The timing of the increase also lines up with broader trends across the tech industry. Rising costs for components like RAM and storage have been pushing manufacturers to adjust pricing. Samsung isn’t alone here. Microsoft has also increased prices on its Surface devices this week. Additionally, Lenovo and other PC makers have made similar moves.
Samsung, meanwhile, has already been nudging prices upward across its wider ecosystem. Recent launches like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Tab S11 have also seen price increases. This suggests a wider strategy shift toward higher margins on premium hardware.
That said, the Galaxy Book 6 range still aims to compete with other high-end Windows laptops. It offers thin-and-light designs, Intel’s latest AI-focused chips, and a consistent baseline of 16GB RAM across the board. For buyers already considering a premium laptop, the value proposition may still hold. However, it’s undeniably less competitive than it first appeared.
For now, the Galaxy Book 6 series remains one of Samsung’s most complete laptop ranges yet. But with prices climbing across the board, it’s also one that’s getting harder to justify for anyone watching their budget.
