Roberts has a new budget radio with plenty of features

Roberts has added two new stereo portables to its radio range, with the Stream 219 and the Blutune 7 covering different price points while sharing the same dual 3-inch speaker configuration and manual bass and treble controls.

The Stream 219 sits at the top of the pair at £149.99, combining Internet Radio, DAB+, FM, podcasts, Bluetooth streaming, Spotify Connect, and USB MP3 playback in a single unit, with the free Oktiv app for iOS and Android adding smartphone control for source switching and station browsing without touching the radio itself.

Supporting that breadth of sources is a preset system that stores up to 60 stations across Internet, DAB, and FM categories, with five physical preset buttons on the top panel providing instant one-touch access to frequently used stations without navigating through the on-screen menu.

That Spotify Connect integration also carries support for Spotify Lossless where the feature is available on a user’s account, extending the Stream 219’s audio credentials beyond the convenience features that typically define radios at this price point.

The Blutune 7 takes a more focused approach at £99.99, covering DAB+, FM, and Bluetooth streaming without the internet radio or app control features of the Stream 219, though it retains the same speaker hardware, full-colour 2.4-inch LCD display, and 40-preset capacity across DAB and FM bands.

Both models share a 295 x 209 x 101mm chassis, an aluminium carry handle, dual alarms with snooze, an adjustable sleep timer, a 3.5mm headphone output, and a 3.5mm auxiliary input, with power coming from either the supplied mains adaptor or six AA batteries for portable use around the home or outdoors.

The Stream 219 adds USB device charging to the shared feature set, a practical inclusion that reflects the product’s positioning as a more connected, multi-source option for users who want a radio and a bedside or kitchen hub in one unit.

Both the Stream 219 and the Blutune 7 are available now in black or white finishes.
