Oppo has expanded its tablet range with the Pad 5 Pro, a 13.2-inch flagship-tier device packing Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset that launched alongside the Oppo Find X9 Ultra at an event in China.
The Pad 5 Pro’s display runs at 3,392 x 2,400 pixels across a 7:5 aspect ratio panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits of peak brightness, and Dolby Vision support, covering the core specifications that buyers at this price point have come to treat as standard rather than exceptional.
Driving that display is LPDDR5X memory paired with UFS 4.1 storage, with Oppo reporting an AnTuTu benchmark score exceeding 4.47 million points, a figure broadly consistent with other Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 devices that have reached the market ahead of the Pad 5 Pro’s China launch.
That sits alongside a 13,380mAh battery with 67W fast charging over USB-C, a capacity that makes it one of the larger battery units in the Android tablet category and reflects the demand for endurance with flagship performance levels.
Beyond the core hardware, the Pad 5 Pro ships with ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 and includes an eight-speaker audio system, dual microphones, and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, with the speaker count placing it above the four- or six-driver configurations found in most competing tablets.
The rear camera is a 13-megapixel unit with 4K video recording at 30fps, supported by an 8-megapixel front-facing sensor, while the chassis measures 5.94mm thick and weighs 672 grams across Dawn Gold, Mocha Brown, and Monet Purple colour options.
The Pad 5 Pro launches in four memory configurations, starting at 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage, priced at CNY 4,299 (approximately £465), with the top-specced 16GB/512GB variant priced at CNY 5,499 (approximately £595), and Oppo has confirmed compatibility with the Oppo Pencil 3 Pro stylus and a magnetic keyboard accessory.
Global availability has not been announced, though the Pad 5 Pro’s specifications closely mirror those of the OnePlus Pad 4, which is scheduled to launch in India on 30 April.
