After Amazon launched the Ember Artline TV, TCL has expanded its own television line-up with the A400 Pro.
A competitor to Samsung’s The Frame, the A400 Pro NXTVISION TV is a QD-Mini LED panel that strikes the balance between a high quality TV and a piece of room decor.
Essentially, the A400 Pro joins the growing lifestyle TV category where the central proposition is that a television should complement interior design rather than conflict with it, and where the trade-off between aesthetics and picture quality has historically been the category’s most persistent weakness.
TCL has equipped the A400 Pro with QD-Mini LED backlighting across up to 448 local dimming zones, a specification that sits well above what most lifestyle-oriented televisions offer and that delivers the contrast depth and highlight brightness typically associated with performance-focused sets rather than art-inspired ones.
Driving the picture processing is TCL’s TSR AiPQ processor, which analyses each scene in real time to adjust contrast, colour accuracy, and motion handling, with the television supporting a native 4K 144Hz refresh rate and up to 288Hz motion acceleration to keep fast-moving content and gaming content smooth and free of blur.
Audio is handled by an integrated ONKYO 2.0 Hi-Fi system with Dolby Atmos and DTS support, removing the need for an external soundbar in a living room where clean cable management and minimal hardware are part of the aesthetic brief.
The A400 Pro carries a unibody construction with a light walnut woodgrain frame and a matte HVA panel that reduces ambient glare and reproduces the textured appearance of framed artwork, while an integrated brightness sensor adjusts the display automatically across changing daylight conditions throughout the day.
An Art Gallery mode allows the television to display curated artwork and AI-generated visuals when not in active use, with Google TV providing the underlying smart platform for streaming access, personalised recommendations, and voice control.
The A400 Pro is available in the UK across four screen sizes: 43-inch at £599, 55-inch at £899, 65-inch at £1,099, and 75-inch at £1,399.
