Blink has brought 2K video resolution to the budget end of the smart doorbell market with two new models, the Wired Doorbell 2K+ and Battery Doorbell 2K+, both priced well below the typical threshold for higher-resolution home security cameras.
The Wired Doorbell 2K+ targets homes with existing doorbell wiring already in place, drawing on that continuous power supply to deliver always-on monitoring without the battery management demands that typically affect wire-free alternatives in the same category.
That always-on capability is paired with a 2K-resolution sensor, a step up from the 1080p output that has defined the entry-level doorbell market for years and remains the standard across most of Blink’s existing camera range.
The Battery Doorbell 2K+ builds on the previous generation of Blink’s wire-free doorbell with a broader set of hardware changes, adding 2K resolution alongside a head-to-toe field of view that extends the visible frame to capture both visitors at the door and packages left on the ground below.
That wider viewing angle reflects a shift in doorbell camera design priorities, with parcel visibility becoming an increasingly common requirement as online shopping volumes have driven consumer demand for footage that covers more of the delivery zone than a face-level frame allows.
Both models also improve low-light and high-contrast performance, addressing a persistent limitation of budget-tier doorbell cameras that have historically struggled with overexposure in direct sunlight and loss of detail in shadow-heavy evening conditions.
The Wired Doorbell 2K+ carries a price of £39.99 / $49.99, while the Battery Doorbell 2K+ is available at £59.99 / $69.99 without a Sync Module or £69.99 / $79.99 with one included, placing both models firmly within the budget end of the smart doorbell market.
Blink has not confirmed a specific retail availability date beyond the announcement, though both doorbells are expected to go on sale in the near term across the brand’s existing UK retail channels.
