OnePlus’ rumoured compact OLED tablet might actually go global

OnePlus might be getting ready to shrink things down with a compact OLED tablet that, despite recent dramas, could be coming to global markets.

According to a fresh leak, the device could be a smaller, more premium alternative to the OnePlus Pad 4 that launched in some markets in April. That tablet sits firmly in flagship territory with its 13.2-inch LCD display and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. The new model, by contrast, looks like it’s targeting portability without cutting too many corners.

The leak comes from tipster @yabhishekhd on X, and suggests the upcoming tablet will feature an 8.8-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. That alone is a pretty big shift for OnePlus tablets, which have mostly stuck to LCD panels so far.

Beneath the surface, the device will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, which sits a step below the Elite version but still delivers high-end performance. Paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, this would put it firmly in the “premium compact tablet” category.

The rest of the hardware looks fairly familiar for a modern Android tablet. A 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, and an 8,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging are all reportedly on board. Software-wise, it will ship with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16.

What makes this leak more interesting is how closely the specs line up with the Oppo Pad Mini, which launched in China earlier this year. That has fuelled speculation that this could essentially be a rebranded version for global markets. OnePlus and Oppo have done this before across different product lines.

If that turns out to be true, the real story here isn’t just the hardware, but availability. So far, manufacturers have mostly limited compact OLED tablets with this kind of spec sheet to China. A global launch would fill a gap that’s been quietly growing in the Android tablet space.

For now, though, nothing is confirmed. Another leak also suggests a possible India launch window in Q3 2026, but OnePlus hasn’t officially commented yet. So this one still firmly sits in rumour territory.
